Its Finally Time 4x400

Go to fullsize imageLast Event of the the day the 4x400 meter relay race. This event gets everyone in the stands at the tip of their seat. In just about any Track and Field meet the finally this finally event decides the winner of the meet. The two teams that are neck to neck both need to bring the heat. With the official yelling last call the crowd gets anxious to see the start. As the teams line up in the order they are running the runners look at their opponents. Now as a runner you all know that you just cant under estimate your competition by the way he or she looks. The official yells "runners take your mark" your positioned dash out of the blocks so hard that it knocks back the block holder.
Go to fullsize image"Set...Go!!!" The race is finally on and you are the first leg. Every Track and Field coach, runner or even fanatic knows that the strongest runner is the first leg. Now that you know exactly how to run a 200meter race you can estimate what there is you need to do for this 4x400. You get a great start and you break the stagger. This puts in the best position on the track. Now the race is head to head but its only the first leg. You come off the last curve and you see your teammate waving you in the exchange zone. You give all you got for the last 50 meters and push hard enough for you teammate to receive a good exchange. This is what makes the race even more exciting because it looks like the winners will be you. But the real reason why the 4x400 isn't as easy as it looks is because it takes commitment and giving up cant be an option.
Go to fullsize imageExchange from the secaond runner to the thrid was marvalious and even the thrid to the fourth but now the foruth runner has to bring it in. All they got everything they can give has to be given in order for their team to get first place. Your teamate comes hard off the curve and right intto the staright away. Knees high and arms pumping hard. Sweat dripping and heart raceing. The oppent team and your team are neck to neck its 45meters left who will win. Your teamamtes dips at the finish just enough for your team to win!!! FIRST PLACE!
This is what Track and Field is all about. You give all you got snd you represent your team in the best way possible. Everyone is proud of you as a great athelte but overall you prove to many people that anything is possible with a little dedication!
ANYONE CAN BE A CHAMPION IF THEY FIGHT FOR IT!!!

Triple Jump

She sets up with her stretching routine, she steps back and sprints down the track like she bursted out the blocks she is moving fast.  as se gets ready for her first jump, she takes a hop, a step, and then the jump to land in the pit.  The marker yells "Mark" 14 inches she gets up and yells wih glory as she knows that she has won that meet for the triple jump with a remarkable jump.

Now as a triple jumper it is a little bit different from long jump the only different is there is a sequence instead of just running and jumping off a spring board, as a triple jumper you have to do two other things before just jumping into the sand pit.  the first step of the sequence is is the "Hop", the second is the "Step", and then thats when you take all you have left to jump as far as you can into the sand pit.

Long Jump

The crowd is quiet as the jumper sets up his routine to jump.  He charges down the run way at top speed the crowd stands up and claps loud and louder as the athelete comes to the jumping point, they leap up high in the air floating far, soaring as if he/she was an eagle in the sky.  He sets their feet as he prepares to land the annoucers yells "Mark" 23 feet the excitement on his face is priceless the glory of preparing to jump that far signafies amazing training with the win at his hand he sets up to jump again.  He is really in the zone now focus eyes are set on the target he is ready as he looks up during his routine he pictures nobody around him and telling himself he has done this before.  He charges down the run way again this time the runway is on fire from the speed he is lashing out the crowd is yelling and clapping and screaming the adrenaline rushing through his blood he reaches the jumping mark he leaps higher and further than before he lands, the announcers eyes get big as if its the most amazing thing he has seen before he yells mark the athelete jumps up and yell with joy the marker says 25 feet this is an absolute victory for him and his team. With the gold around his neck and glory on his face he knows that with integreity and training anything is possible.

Now long jump is one of the field events that has the crowd up on there feet, with the different techniques and routines from each athelete gets the crowd going.  Long jumping cosists of a skinny run way on the side of the field or in the middle of the field, a deep sand pit, the marker/announcer, and last but not least the athelete.  This event starts before all running events because there is alot of heats and the triple jump is right after it.  While long jumping you really dont need much except your steps and yourself after you do your warm up and routine you jump off a little spring board to give you a little bounce and height. Long jump is really simple if you know what you are doing.

Time for Field Events!

Go to fullsize imageAll said and done when Track and Field gets intense all of us track runners, coaches and even the audience are at the edge of their seats. Sop when the points are all up and both teams fighting for first place it all comes down on the FIELD EVENTS of Track and Field. One in particular that will be discussed in this post is called shot put. This event requires a heavy ball which is called a shot as most of you'll should know.

Go to fullsize imageSome basic background of shot put is mainly that it is recommended that a lot of time and effort is put towards becoming great in this. The reason is because that when we start talking about technique this is where it all needs to be focused on. Shot put is basically all about formation of the body but also the strenght as you all have figured out. Breaking down this event in its simplest form of explanation is; a person throws a heavy ball in a pushing motion as far as he or she can possibly throw it. "Putting" comes into play because, that's the motion that the shot and the person themselves do.
Go to fullsize image Once a person can understand the main facts of this event they are prepared for the hardest part which is the technique of shot put. Breaking it down into four steps makes it a bit easier to put forward at least a try. Remember giving an effort in this event can give you a great start. The first step is to undersatnd the positioning of feet placement in the ring. As you all know the ring is the circle in which the thrower has to stay in at all times for any throw of his or hers to actually count. Secondly there is a certain way that the shot putter is suppoessed to hold his or her shot. This is very important because without holding the shot correctly, we all who understand track knows that is the result of whats called a foul throw. No one wants this and knowin this techique will help many pepare for as better outcome.
Go to fullsize imageThe next step is to get a spin. Now this spin has to be very powerful. This requires alot of help from your "POWER LEG". Your power leg is what leads the spin. With this spin and the focused of the positioning of your shot on your shoulder all has to be set right. The last and the most important step is the release of the shot. Shot put is all about the right timing. As a thrower you want to have a powerful spin then release the shot at the perfect time. Relaesing the shot requires you to "PUT" which is throwing the heavy ball as far as possible. When these important steps are done correctly you as a thrower or a future thrower should be all set on throwing as far as possible. Hey! Throw as far as the STARS!!

Bad Handoffs and Exchange Zones Equals Chaos!!

Pow!! here comes the first exchange coming in fast better be ready not to let the team good exchange on to the next exchange, down the back stretch coming in faster than a cheetah hunting its prey eyes glisining ready to make your coach proud, handoff is ok still in the lead.  Now coming up the last exchange zone crowd raging cheering you on, coach screaming lets go, lets go, you can do it, announcer broadcasting your team name as you come to the last exchange zone, your excited coming in fast remember that 200 meters should be a blast.  Your are coming in strong knowing that your team is going to win with the determination on your face nothing can bring it down.  Here it comes the last exchange zone as the anouncer broadcasts, his hands is up OH NO!! you stumble and trip bad your teammate reaches his out to grab the baton, your face drops with disappointment, Tink Tink the baton drops you fall on the ground the crowd says OOooh your coach throws his hat and your teammate shakes his head saying why, as they watch the other teams pass by in victory.

Dropping the baton is the worse thing you could ever do in track.  You can not get too excited in a race to over think what your goal is in a relay.  The goal is to move the baton smoothly throuth your teammate until you get to the finish line.  Now in a relay from the start to theend you have three exchange zones.  These zones are for the baton, the baton can only be pass through these zones not before and definitely not after.  If the baton is passed before and or after you and your relay team gets disqualified, which is something that you would dread to happen.

In conclusion this is one of the most outrageous bad things not to do in Track & Field.  With relays you have to be very aware of one your surroundings and how fast you are coming in to your teammate so accidents like dropping the baton or going out of your exchange zone or before it.  Also good training and practice can prevent these accidents from happening.

Until this wonderful race was devoured by both males and females. These outstanding times changed the whole standards of this race. Instead of an distance race it now known as dash. This makes a huge difference within the standards of a runner who feels that he or she can prevail in this race.
Go to fullsize imageWe all know exactly why every track and field runner loves the 400 meter dash. hats because, this race requires a lo of skills. When you come through the finish line first in this  race you definitely have to fight. There are so many different ways to run this race as many of us know. To be honest as a runner you find different strategy and that's when you stick with it. This race is a long one lap around a 400meter track. Now an average person would say that's nothing but, we all as track and field fanatics that its not as easy as it sounds.
Go to fullsize imageWhen you get on he line for this wonderful event believe me it feels really good the cheering for you and all of your opponents. This gets your heart at a high beating rate. Your focus has to be set and ready to win. The key to running a very good race is to, just think about your form. If your form is on point then no one will be able to compare to your status upon taking this race down. Also having a great eye point  is a great strategy. Using this will keep your head up high and making sure your distance between you and your opponent can be easily covered. With these great strategies in mind as your preparing or even training for the 400 meter dash race, you will succeed. Trust me the same world greatest track and field athletes do the same tactics. My question is to you are you ready to be right behind those people?
